Gordian Knot (2015)

In ‘Gordian Knot’ I focused on the illusory quality of the string, interweaving with the net in fluid, indeterminate space using energy-loaded colours. My main focus was on the knot and its sinuous lines and multiple connections.
I called it ‘Gordian Knot’ inspired by Albert Camus’s use of the Gordian knot as a metaphor for the civilization falling apart at the sword of rampant politics of power and nihilism of the 20th century (the barbaric fashion of cutting the knots, rather than trying to untie them). He called for the “anti-Alexanders”, to heal the wound and repair the Gordian knot of civilization cut by the sword.
